Takacs McGinnis Elder Care Law
History
The firm known today as Takacs McGinnis Elder Care Law was launched as Family Law Practice of Timothy L. Takacs on September 1, 1992. In 1993, Takacs made the decision to refocus his practice on elder law. As his caseload grew, Takacs began exploring a new way of practicing elder law by adding professionals to his staff who could provide care coordination, public benefits and other support to families. In 1998, he hired the firm's first care coordinator and renamed the firm Elder Law Practice of Timothy L. Takacs later that year. Since then, Takacs has never stopped trying to make life better for the more than 5,000 clients who have sought his help. His innovations have comforted many families, inspired hundreds of attorneys, and transformed the practice of elder law in the United States. In 2011, attorney Barbara Boone McGinnis joined the firm. In 2016, she was named partner, and in 2017, the firm's name changed to Takacs McGinnis Elder Care Law.
