Seymour Volunteer Fire Department Station 6
The Seymour Volunteer Fire Department (SVFD) has been dedicated to providing fire protection and safety services to the Seymour community for over 50 years. With six stations, 26 pieces of equipment, and a team of over 60 volunteers, SVFD responds to an average of 2,391 calls per year, serving over 18,600 homes, 400 businesses, and numerous schools and churches across three Tennessee counties.
Originally formed in 1971 by local business owners, SVFD has grown significantly over the years, expanding its fleet and establishing additional stations to meet the needs of a rapidly developing community. As Seymour has transformed from family farms to bustling subdivisions, SVFD has adapted to the changing landscape, ensuring a better and safer environment for its residents through their commitment to fire protection and emergency response.
