History
Jim became interested in photography when he was serving in the U.S. Navy from 1968-1972. In fact, he bought his first 35 mm camera when he was still a teenager on R&R in Japan. We had no idea that the quality of the photos that he had taken was so good until we looked at them again several years later. When Jim came home and back to civilian life, family and work priorities took the place of photography. Then many years later after Jim retired, he had a major flashback to the war in Vietnam. As a result of the return of the war into his life, Jim picked up his camera for therapeutic reasons. Photography became a deep healing process for Jim that hasn't stopped to date! It wasn't long before Jim had upgraded all his equipment and turned pro. He has since won an award for his photography skills and volunteers to teach photography to other Military Veterans with PTSD so they can be helped, too.
