Founded in 1956, Pal s Sudden Service is a company-owned, carryout-only restaurant chain. The design for the first Pal s drive-through was done on the back of a napkin. Its owner, Pal, explained his concept and asked one of the designers for his opinion. The designer, Tony Barone, immediately sketched a building with the stair-stepped front holding larger-than-life food and drink items on a napkin. The restaurant chain presently offers a variety of sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, biscuits, soft drinks, milk shakes and juices. It prepares a special chili recipe for hot dogs. Pal s Sudden Service also offers special Pal s big Tea, which is a large, 32-ounce portion of brewed, iced tea. It offers sausage, country ham and sausage-gravy biscuits.
