The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in the State of Tennessee is a fellowship of women dedicated to honoring and preserving the national heritage of the United States. Through historic preservation, patriotic service, and educational projects, they strive to protect the ideals of the past, foster friendships, and inspire future generations in love of country.
Travellers Rest, the oldest historic house museum in Nashville, serves as the headquarters for the NSCDA-TN. Built in 1799, this museum property offers daily tours of the house and grounds, showcasing the rich history of Judge John Overton and his descendants. The NSCDA-TN also provides support for other museum houses, including Dumbarton House in Washington, DC, Gunston Hall in Virginia, and Sulgrave Manor in England.
