Natural Resources Conservation
The Hull-York Lakeland Resource Conservation and Development Council is a non-profit organization that has been actively working in the upper Cumberland area of middle Tennessee for over 40 years. They collaborate with communities, local governments, and grassroots organizations to develop and implement solutions for environmental issues, promote local tourism, and provide educational opportunities, all with the aim of sustaining rural communities, local economies, and natural resources.
The council has successfully undertaken various projects, including the administration of a Conservation Planning Course for Natural Resource Conservation Service employees, the development of an agricultural leadership course, the establishment of the Upper Cumberland Quilt Trail to preserve the art and heritage of quilting, the completion of a baseball field in collaboration with Major League Baseball, and the assessment and improvement of water quality in the Post Oak Creek watershed. Through their efforts, the Hull-York Lakeland RC D Council strives to sustain the quality of life in the region by addressing economic, environmental, and social issues.
