The Mapuche Human Rights Commission (MHRC) is a voluntary organization founded on June 20, 2012, by the councils of Lonko Mayle-Allipen-Cunco and Lonko Pincen de Puelmapu-Wallmapu. It consists of members from organizations in Wallmapu and Europe who have been advocating for the human rights of the Mapuche people at the United Nations (UN) bodies.
The MHRC collaborates with volunteers from the Mapuche Permanent Mission to the United Nations, enabling them to participate in oral and written presentations, submit reports to the UN Human Rights Council and other UN organs, and gain access to new international platforms. Their objective is to expand their work, address various topics discussed at the UN, and monitor the level of commitment of Chile and Argentina, the states that have ratified human rights treaties and international conventions.
