The American Cotton Shippers Association (ACSA) is a prominent organization in the cotton merchandising trade of the United States. Comprised of Cotton Merchants, Primary Buyers, and Mill Service Agents, ACSA represents four Federated Associations located throughout the cotton belt. Established in 1924, ACSA plays an active role in promoting the use of cotton domestically and internationally, collaborating with other cotton trade organizations, formulating farm programs with producer organizations, and working closely with government agencies. ACSA's member firms handle a significant portion of the U.S. cotton sold in both domestic and foreign markets. With the opportunity for members to participate in policy formulation, voice concerns, and recommend changes in regulations or legislation, ACSA provides a platform for cotton merchants at all levels of the marketing chain to contribute to the affairs of the association.
