John Sevier was born on Sept 23, 1745. He was a Rev. War hero at the Battle of Kings Mtn. Sevier went on to become TN’s first governor in 1796. Today Marble Springs consists of Sevier’s house, a tavern, loom house, & trading post. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
