Laborers Local 818, chartered on May 3rd, 1937, proudly represents and trains the working men and women of Eastern Tennessee, specifically the Eastern Cumberland Plateau and upper regions. As an affiliate of the Laborers International Union of North America, the local serves a diverse range of construction and labor workers, including hazardous waste and asbestos abatement professionals.
With a strong commitment to safety and skill development, Laborers Local 818 has facilitated over 77,000 hours of training for more than 3,600 workers in the past year alone. The local plays a vital role in significant projects, collaborating with federal and state agencies on initiatives such as the Spallation Neutron Source and the ongoing cleanup of the Kingston TVA fossil plant.
