Keeton Leather

History

I first tried my hand at leathercrafting while at summer camp when I was a teenager. After I was given a leathercraft toolkit while in high school, I began making items for gifts and also sold a few items here and there to friends. After a while, I realized that doing leather work was a good way to make some extra money doing a hobby I loved. In 1998 I first officially started doing leathercraft as a side business specializing in gun holsters and belts. Fast forward to 2019 and I decided it was time to take my business full-time. Being a parent to my two boys, I began working out of my garage workshop so I could continue to help take care of them during the day while my wife was at her job. In July 2021 I took the plunge and opened my shop in Powell so I could expand my business. I hope to continue to grow my business and have a goal to open a larger space where other makers can have workshop space and pursue their own artistic passions.
