History

It all started when I shot portraits of my friends and family for fun. When I attended weddings, I'd take photos and give them to the bride and groom as gifts. As my photos made it to the walls and onto mantels, people started calling and asking if I could photograph their family or their wedding. I kept saying yes and, pretty soon I quit my day job and started shooting full time. I have recently moved to Nashville and am hoping to get the business going down here. I still travel to Chicago 3-4 times/year to shoot my clients up there (so if you're from Chicago, no worries, I'll be back in a couple of months).

Specialties

katiejames photography specializes in portrait photography as well as wedding photography. I photograph families, musicians, actors, babies, kids, and teens, as well as engagement portraits and weddings. We all have our experiences. The places we've gone, the people we've met and the moments that shape us into what we are. I love nothing more than discovering and living these experiences and can't wait to document yours!
