Ingram Industries is primarily engaged in providing intracoastal freight transportation services through its subsidiary, Ingram Barge. The company moves dry and liquid bulk commodities and operates more than 4,000 barges powered by a large fleet of towboats, comprising over 100 line haul vessels and 40 boats. It transports a range of cargoes, including coal, grain, aggregates, fertilizer, ores, alloys, steel products and chemicals. The company has information systems that provide direct satellite communications with its towboats. Its towboats are equipped with electronic charting systems that use differential global positioning systems and radar integration technology.
