Houston High School

Houston High School, located in Germantown, Tenn., is one of the Shelby County Schools. It offers a college preparatory curriculum to more than 2,300 students in grades nine through 12. Its courses include English, social studies, mathematics, science, physical education, health education, humanities, computer science and a choice of more than 20 electives. Advanced placement courses are available for students who wish to earn college credit while in high school. Its resources include math, science, computer and graphic arts labs and a library with an integrated media center. It has a school improvement team, comprising teachers, parents and students who develop new goals each year. Houston High School offers various sports, including basketball, football and volleyball, and its choir, band and visual arts programs.
