Fun hike that almost nobody knows about. Clean and full of history. Winter is best as the leafless tree give a great view from the red chairs.

High Ground is a nice little trail loop. It has a few elevation changes, but it is an easy stroll. The Civil War era location was home to a fort where Union and Confederate forces met in battle....

Somewhat remote, seems like it's new since the parking lot and stonework and fences around parking lot in good shape, and nice loop walking trail.

I don't know how we never knew about this South Knoxville site! We were out driving around exploring the Vestal side of Chapman Hwy & drove past this park, which seemed especially nice to have...
