The Friends of Fort Defiance is a dedicated group of community members committed to preserving and promoting the rich history of Clarksville and Middle Tennessee during the 19th century, particularly the Civil War era. They work collaboratively to sponsor public presentations and educational demonstrations that bring this vibrant past to life through historically accurate reenactments and immersive experiences.

Fort Defiance, located within a Civil War Park and Interpretive Center, hosts numerous living history events throughout the year where visitors can engage with reenactors, learn about everyday life in the 19th century, and explore the historical significance of the region. The organization emphasizes authenticity by encouraging members to don period clothing and utilize era-specific weapons and accessories, enhancing the educational value of their events.
