Founded in 1965, Fayette Academy is a private educational institution serving the community of Somerville, Tenn. It provides an academic curriculum to more than 700 students in grades kindergarten through 12. Fayette Academy offers an honors program for middle and high schools. In addition, high school students have the option of pursuing a college- preparatory program that offers advanced placement coursework in biology, English, calculus and United States history. The academy has an athletic department that offers a wide range of sports, such as football, basketball, softball, track, cross country, soccer, volleyball and cheerleading. It operates various clubs, including the National Honor Society, student council, and chess, ecology and history clubs.
