ELIZABETH VANHORN, PhD

Dr. Popkin is a Licensed Psychologist and Associate Professor. She earned her M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Her post-doctoral experiences included working with the autism assessment team, counseling children and families, and collaborating with school staff and students. Dr. Popkin is a generalist who treats a variety of conditions. Her clinical interests and experiences include anxiety and depressive disorders, childhood disorders, women's health issues, issues regarding racial and ethnic identity, relationship and family issues, as well as consultation services for children and families.

Dr. Walton earned a Master's of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996 after graduating with a Bachelor's Degree from Vanderbilt University. She has been working as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1998. In 2014, Maria earned a PhD from Tennessee State University, and is currently licensed as a Psychologist. Maria specializes in the treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma/PTSD, grief/loss, and women's issues. Maria utilizes a psychodynamic approach in her work with clients, helping clients to identify and correct maladaptive patterns of relating with the self and others.

Dr. Hatchett earned her M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Mississippi State University, and her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Memphis. She completed her internship at Clemson University Counseling and Psychological Services. She worked in private practice in Texas, providing individual therapy and assessment, before relocating to Nashville. Dr. Hatchett's areas of interest include mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, and LGBT issues. She primarily utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, helping clients identify and challenge patterns of thoughts and behaviors that may be contributing to their concerns. She works with clients on building coping skills, with the goal of increasing clients' sense of empowerment.
