About Grainger Today Welcome to Grainger Today. We are a weekly newspaper serving the residents of Grainger County and the business communities that surround Grainger County. Founded September 1, 2004, our mission is twofold: Report the news honestly, accurately, and timely; and promote the products and services you see advertised in our pages. Newspapers are a business like any other business. To be successful, we must produce a product people want. At Grainger Today, our product is information. We do our best to provide you with a variety of information each week. It might be action taken by our county commission or some hanky-panky with the way a government agency is spending your tax dollars. Or it could be a feature story on a local artist, a missionary just home from Belize, or a sale on trucks. We try to keep things lively, but our first concern is the truth. Our credibility is our most important asset, whether it's a news story or an advertisement. We believe if we provide you accurate and timely news, interesting feature stories, insightful commentary, a little humor, and inviting ads, people will take time out of their busy week to read Grainger Today Each Wednesday, 7, 200 copies of Grainger Today are distributed at more than 150 locations in Grainger, Jefferson, Hamblen, Hawkins, and Knox counties. If the ads are successful, businesses will profit. If the advertisers profit, we'll profit. And, if you learn something you didn't know, or perhaps save on a purchase because of an ad you saw in Grainger Today, you, too, will profit.
