With over 20 years of experience in glass fusing and glass blowing torch work, Karen creates an extensive variety of functional plates and vessels, whimsical or abstract pieces, personal jewelry and adornment items, mosaics, and wall or window art. Her work can be seen on public display in Elizabethton and Johnson City, TN, as well as at various arts and craft shows and galleries in the area. Tom Hitchcock, Karen's husband, brings his passion for capturing artists, nature, and stories in North East Tennessee to Blue River Studio. With a background in electronics engineering and a career as a musician, Tom's work complements Karen's artistic creations. Together, they find inspiration in nature and enjoy activities such as hiking, golfing, fishing, and biking. Their love for the mountains of Tennessee is evident in their work, which is fueled by the beauty they encounter.
