Byrd Cookie Company, established in 1924 by Benjamin Tillman "Pop" Byrd Sr., began its journey in Savannah, Georgia, where he baked his renowned Scotch Oatmeal cookies in a small downtown bakery. By delivering fresh cookies in a Model T Ford, Pop quickly garnered a loyal local following, leading to the expansion of his bakery offerings while maintaining the popularity of his signature cookie.

In 1929, the growing demand prompted Pop to relocate the bakery to Sandfly, transforming a barn into a larger facility named Byrd's Famous Cookies. Over the years, the company has retained its commitment to quality, making it a cherished name in the cookie industry.
