Blount Memorial Transitional

The Transitional Care Center of Blount Memorial Hospital, with its facility in Maryville, Tenn., provides continuity of care with skilled nursing care and therapeutic services following hospitalization. The facility features 60 private rooms with cable television and telephones, and in-room oxygen and suction. Handicapped-equipped rooms are available for patients with special needs. The facility mainly serves patients who no longer need acute hospital treatment but still require medical and therapeutic services with 24-hour supervision. An interdisciplinary team of nursing staff, therapists, case managers, registered dieticians, pharmacists and physicians provides comprehensive treatment. Its sub-acute care provides for individuals with an illness, injury or exacerbation of a disease process. Its long-term care services for the elderly include physical, occupational and speech therapy, parenteral feeding, wound care, joint replacement rehabilitation, postsurgical and cancer care.
