Founded in 1921, Pennington County Jail is a detention center that is nationally accredited by the American Correctional Association. The jail houses more than 350 inmates. It houses pretrial, presentenced, and county- and state-sentenced prisoners. Pennington County Jail offers a variety of services for inmates, as well as provides medical and mental health services.
