Andrew S. Eiseman, M.D. has been appointed as a professor of ophthalmology and the director of the ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery service at the Albert Florens Storm Eye Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Eiseman comes to Storm Eye from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center where he served as the chief of the ophthalmology service, the director of the ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery service, and as an associate professor of surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.Dr. Eiseman received his BS in chemistry from the United States Military Academy at West Point where he was a distinguished cadet. He received his M.D. from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences where he was the class valedictorian. He completed his internship and ophthalmology residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 1994 where he also served as the chief resident. He then completed his fellowship training in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at Wills Eye Hospital in 1998. Dr. Eiseman was the director of the oculoplastics service at Walter Reed for over 14 years as a surgeon performing challenging cases of complex orbital trauma and cosmetic rejuvenation. Dr. Eiseman served as the program director of the ophthalmology residency at Walter Reed from 2005 to 2011 and he is an oral board examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons. He is a journal reviewer for several peer reviewed journals and he has served on several national committees to include the digital media committee of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Department of Defense joint readiness advisory board, and the Department of Defense vision improvement subcommittee. Dr. Eiseman has published a number of peer reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and abstracts.Dr. Eiseman performs clinical research and his areas of interest include lacrimal drainage disorders and ocular trauma and he has presented his research findings at national and international meetings. He has received several awards to include the American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award and the Department of Defense "A" Designator for Academic Excellence. He was elected into the Washington Academy of Ophthalmology and the Order of Military Medical Merit. He is a flight surgeon and his military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal and the Legion of Merit.

Dr. John Cox is a clinical professor of pulmonary medicine, with a faculty appointment to the Department of Medicine and consulting privileges at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. Dr. Cox's main area of interest is in the care of patients with asthma, especially the most severe cases of persistent asthma. With his dual board certification in pulmonary medicine and allergy/immunology, he is able to offer a comprehensive range of testing and treatment options for patients. He is director of the comprehensive asthma clinic, within the division of pulmonary, critical care, allergy, and sleep medicine at MUSC. He also sees patients with general pulmonary problems and allergic complaints, such as allergic rhinitis.Dr. Cox was born and raised in Pennsylvania and graduated from Bucknell University and George Washington University Medical School. There he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and completed a combined pulmonary and allergy/immunology fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.He served four years in the Air Force, as chief of pulmonary medicine at Andrews AFB. Following completion of his military service, he returned to central Pennsylvania and engaged in private practice from 1993 until 2015, when he became a full-time faculty member of the MUSC pulmonary division.

A native of New York, Dr. Michael R. Gold graduated from SUNY at Stony Brook in 1975. He received his medical degree from the University of Colorado in 1985 and his Ph.D. degree from the University of Virginia in 1979. He completed his residency and cardiology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1991. Immediately thereafter, Dr. Gold joined the faculty of University of Maryland where he was the director of the cardiac electrophysiology service and assistant professor of medicine and physiology. In 2001, he became professor of medicine in the Department of Medicine. From 2002 to 2015, Dr. Michael R. Gold was the chief of cardiology, Michael E. Assey professor of medicine and medical director of the Heart and Vascular Center at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. Dr. Gold is the author of over 250 publications. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. His special interests include electrophysiology, adult cardiology and arrhythmias and he is a pioneer in the development of new defibrillation techniques and pacing for congestive heart failure.
