Tyler A. Gonzalez, MD, MBA, is a fellowship-trained and board certified orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon at Prisma Health Orthopedics in Columbia. After completing his bachelor's degree at the University of California, Berkeley, he received a Master of Business Administration and his MD from UCLA in Los Angeles. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Harvard Medical School in Boston and his fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Throughout his career, Dr. Gonzalez has focused on improving patient care, medical education and research. His interest and passion in translational, clinical and biomechanical research has prompted over 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications and presentations. He routinely lectures at regional, national and international forums on foot and ankle topics and on improving value-based patient care. Dr. Gonzalez is an active reviewer for publications, including Foot and Ankle International, Foot and Ankle Orthopaedics, and Foot and Ankle Specialist. He is a member of various foot and ankle surgery societies and is president and co-founder of Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, Inc., a collaboration of foot and ankle surgeons to improve the delivery of healthcare, innovate on current surgical technologies and advance overall patient care. He has a clinical interest in minimally invasive surgery, minimally invasive bunion correction, ankle replacements, ankle arthroscopy, foot and ankle arthritis, Charcot Marie Tooth disease, sports-related injuries, cartilage preservation and replacement surgery, bunion and hammertoe surgery, ligament/tendon disorders, dance medicine, and orthopedic trauma and fracture care. Outside of his clinical interests, Dr. Gonzalez's passions include medical education, entrepreneurship, healthcare management and policy, patient quality and safety, value-based healthcare research, and clinical outcomes research.
