History

Started in '47 on Washington St. by Mr. Dan Roth. In the '50's he added a larger location on Assembly St.,and both stores operated untill the late '60's when the original Washington St. location was closed. The Assembly St. store was in the way of urban revitalization , and in '82 the store moved to the recent location on Main St .After 34years on Main St. ( redevelopment again) we relocated to Sunset Boulevard (Hwy 378) in W. Cola. ,in the Capital Square Shopping Center ( just over Gervais St. bridge,right onto Sunset 1 block then left into shopping center parking lot). Throughout it's history , many of the internationally popular entertainers would wander in. Even at 11 or 12,word spread quickly about Michael Jackson's visit and the doors had to be locked for his protection! After about 55 years of six days a week , the owner decided that we all needed a

Fun, quirky and unique! You may not be in the market for a grenade or gas mask, but this store is a must-see! The owner was friendly and humorous, even giving us recommendations for dinner.

It's a great store I've been coming here for years. The only place I know that keep a colorful selection of dickies and army pants.
