Sterling Land Trust

Sterling Land Trust is dedicated to protecting and preserving the Sterling Community in Greenville, South Carolina, a historically significant Black neighborhood with deep roots in the Civil Rights Movement. Through cooperative community action, the organization aims to restore the neighborhood and ensure its legacy endures for future generations.

As part of their initiatives, Sterling Land Trust is creating a memorial grove to honor the legacy of Sterling High School, the first African American high school in Greenville County. This memorial will feature twenty-six trees, four corner landmarks, architecturally designed benches, and a symbolic torch, all designed to preserve the memory of this important community space.
