A group of caring people in Sumter, South Carolina, made a unique promise, a covenant, to their community to create a Continuing Care Retirement Community where the needs of mature adults and their loved ones could be met. The result of that promise is Covenant Place - a warm, inviting retirement community, tastefully designed to reflect southern charm and hospitality, with a neighbor helping neighbor philosophy. As a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) Continuing Care Retirement Community, Covenant Place of Sumter, Inc. offers the perfect lifestyle options for those who enjoy their independence with security for the future. Covenant Place provides a range of lifestyle options, including Apartment Home Living, Assisted Living, Heartfelt Connections secured memory care, and Skilled Nursing Care. Covenant Place is also participant with Medicare Part A for inpatient short term rehabilitation, utilizing our state-of-the-art Marian Carey Rehabilitation Center in partnership with Heritage Healthcare - a Compassionate Care Rehab Provider. Medicare Part B for outpatient rehabilitation can be used by current residents. As the only Continuing Care Retirement Community in the area, Covenant Place is a rental community with no buy-in fees or long-term contract. Our Board of Trustees, Life Care Services, and representatives from local sponsoring congregations work together to maintain our unique retirement community.

Founded in 1991, Agape Senior offers a range of nursing and rehabilitative services. It operates more than five assisted living campuses and the Transitional Care Unit. The company provides physical, speech and occupational therapies. Agape Senior supplies a variety of medical equipment, such as splints, braces, suction machines, nebulizers, hospital beds and electric wheelchairs. It also offers pharmacy, ambulance and transportation solutions. The company operates Agape Pharmacy, Agape Properties, Agape Therapy and Agape Hospice. In addition, Agape Senior provides several personal care and housekeeping services. The company serves senior citizens with cancer, multiple sclerosis, and kidney, liver and Alzheimer s diseases.

Bethea Baptist Retirement Community, located in Darlington, S.C., offers a wide variety of programs and services to senior citizens. Its campus is spread on an area of more than 100 acres. The agency is a part of South Carolina Baptists and is sponsored by South Carolina Baptist Ministries for the Aging, a non-profit operation. Licensed by the Department of Consumer Affairs, it is a continuing care retirement community, providing a variety of retirement care services. Bethea Baptist Retirement Community offers a wide variety of social activities, such as monthly birthday celebrations, bus excursions to local theaters and shops, and a variety of other activities.
