SkyWheel Myrtle Beach

Located in the heart of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, the SkyWheel is an observation wheel that stands over 180 feet tall and is the tallest wheel east of the Mississippi. Riders take flight in a fully enclosed, climate controlled gondola overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Ocean Boulevard, and the Myrtle Beach skyline.

Parking at the SkyWheel
Traveling by car, the SkyWheel is located on Ocean Boulevard just north of Mr. Joe White Avenue. There is metered parking on Ocean Boulevard, as well as a few nearby parking garages with fees that vary.

Best and worst and time to go to SkyWheel
The best time to visit the SkyWheel is just after lunch time, the crowds will be minimal and you will experience a great panoramic view of Myrtle Beach on a clear, sunny day. The worst time to go is when there is a thunderstorm or inclement weather. If there is lighting predicted or visible, the SkyWheel will close.

Admission to SkyWheel
Admission price varies and depends on the type of ride you want to experience, the SkyWheel offers a regular admission, as well as VIP packages. Tickets range from $13-$50 for adults and children over the age of 12, children ages 3 to 11 tickets range from $9-$35, while children ages two and under are free with an adult.

Must see/do at SkyWheel
While most may visit the attraction during the day, exploring it in the evening is just as fun. A ride in the early evening hours is a great time to see Myrtle Beach's skyline lit up. During the summer, bands often play live music in neighboring Plyler Park and admission is generally free to the public.

Because the SkyWheel is situated on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, spend time strolling the promenade and taking in the sights and sounds of the ocean, shops and restaurants. If you're hungry, Jimmy Buffet's Landshark Bar & Grill is located at the base of the wheel and offers a menu full of delicious American fare.

Insider tip for visitors to SkyWheel
Don't worry if there are just two people in your party or six and more, you won't have to share a gondola. Each party receives their own gondola for their ride around the SkyWheel.
