Siskin Steel & Supply Company is a company with a rich heritage. It is a century-old business that processes and distributes steel and aluminum products throughout the southeastern United States. Siskin began as a scrap company in 1900 and began service center operations in 1949. The company operates four modern metal service centers in Chattanooga and Nashville, Tenn.; Birmingham, Ala.; and Spartanburg, S.C. The original scrap division was sold in 1990 in order to concentrate on the metal service center business. Siskin Steel provides jobs for nearly 480 people and nearly half of the company employees have worked for the company for more than 10. Siskin Steel & Supply Company is headquartered in Chattanooga. Its branch facility located in Spartanburg employs nearly 50 people.
