Your host, Ched Spangler, is an award-winning stylist and colorist recognized throughout the U.S. and Canada for his trend setting, innovative techniques. His talents were sought by Farouk Systems International, who invited him to join their organizations to teach and help expand their business in the Southeast. Spangler's talents were later recognized by Graham Webb International, headquartered in England. One of the first Americans in the South to join the company, Spangler later became a national trainer, teaching European hairstyling while introducing their product line to beauty industry professionals. Spangler was taught at the Graham Webb Academy in Washington DC and was nominated "Artistic Director Of the Year, " their highest honor. When Ched heard Gold's Gym was breaking ground in Irmo, he envisioned building a salon and day spa in the same location. Wanting to shape the project from the ground up, he worked closely with his architect to custom design every inch of salon space. Spangler's dream of building Columbia's finest salon and day spa has been realized. The Retreat Salon & Spa is Columbia's best place to escape from everyday life.
