Seid Ali -Yazdy, MD

Roger H. Gower, MD, is a native of Greenville, South Carolina, and has been with Greenville OB/GYN Associates since 1982. He received his undergraduate education at Emory University in Atlanta and his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. He completed an internship in internal medicine at University Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, and then returned to the Medical University of South Carolina, where he completed his residency training in OB/GYN in 1982. He then returned to Greenville and joined Greenville OBGYN associates. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. Dr. Gower has served as president of the Greenville Memorial Hospital medical staff and been a board member of the American Red Cross, the Upstate History Museum and the United Way campaign. He volunteers at the Greenville free medical clinic and is an active member of Westminster Christian Church where he is a former elder. He serves as Vice Chairman for Quality in OB/GYN at Prisma Health and has served as interim department Chair. He enjoys hiking, biking, occasionally golf, reading and writing. He is married to Martha and is the proud father of four children and seven grandchildren.

Erin Thurston, MD, joined Greenville Ob/Gyn Associates in August 2012. She was born and raised in Arlington, TX, and attended Texas Tech University for both her undergraduate degree and for medical school. She then moved to Greenville, SC, for her Ob/Gyn residency at Greenville Health System. During residency she was awarded the Golden Scalpel Award, the John V. Dacus Award for Excellence in Obstetrics, the Society for Laparoscopic Surgeons Award for Excellence in Laparoscopy, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists Award in Minimally Invasive Gynecology. Dr. Thurston is board certified and is a fellow of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and has a special interest in minimally invasive laparoscopy and robotic surgery. Dr. Thurston currently serves as the Vice Chair of Quality for the Department of Ob/Gyn. She is married and has two sons. She spends her free time running around after kids and enjoying a good run or workout.
