Salem Fire Department

The Salem Volunteer Fire Department was established in June of 1972 in Salem, SC, to address the need for fire protection in the area. With the support of the community, the department acquired a used truck, recruited volunteers, and began training. Over the years, additional stations were built, and the department now covers 75 square miles of district, working in collaboration with neighboring fire departments through automatic aid and mutual aid agreements.

With a team of 29 dedicated volunteers, the Salem Fire Department relies on the support of citizens and businesses to provide essential fire protection services. Through donations of money and equipment, the department has grown and continues to serve the community, responding to emergencies and working together with other departments to ensure the safety of the area.
