R. Blake Windsor, MD, is the chief of pediatric pain medicine at Prisma Health–Upstate. He is a pediatrician with sub-specialty training in pediatric pain medicine. Dr. Windsor attended the University of Georgia followed by Mercer University School of Medicine where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society. He received his post-graduate training in pediatrics in a combined training program between Boston Children’s Hospital with Harvard Medical School and Boston Medical Center with Boston University School of Medicine. He stayed on at Boston Children’s Hospital and joined the faculty of Harvard Medical School in the Department of Anesthesia as he completed a faculty-fellowship in pediatric pain medicine. Dr. Windsor is a board certified headache specialist and is the only pediatric headache specialist in South Carolina. He is also a board certified medical acupuncturist. After leaving Boston, Dr. Windsor practiced at Seattle Children’s Hospital and the University of Washington School of Medicine as an assistant professor of anesthesiology and pain medicine. He joined Prisma Health and the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Greenville in 2018 to start the first comprehensive pediatric pain and headache program in the Carolinas.
