Originally from Chapin, South Carolina, Michael Cryer, MD, earned his medical degree at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia. He then completed both an internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at Prisma Health in the Midlands. After two more fellowships - interventional cardiology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and structural heart in Tucson, Arizona - he returned to Columbia to practice both general cardiology and interventional cardiology.
