The Oyster Bar of Columbia, an iconic venue located in Columbia's Historic Vista, offers patrons a nostalgic oyster bar experience featuring fresh oysters and steamed shrimp, all served with their renowned warm cocktail sauce. Founded by a University of South Carolina graduate and his mother, the establishment has expanded its menu to include a variety of seafood and local comfort foods, becoming a beloved dining spot since its opening in 2001.
With a commitment to freshness, the Oyster Bar sources its oysters from the Gulf Coast and serves them alongside scrumptious sides like Adluh Grits and soups. The warm and inviting atmosphere is complemented by friendly service, personified by the "Mother Shucker," who greets guests with a smile, ensuring each visit feels like a homecoming.
