L. Alex Young, MD, is a child abuse pediatrician with Prisma Health Childrens Hospital and the Prisma Health-USC Medical Group. She received her medical degree and completed her general pediatrics residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. Young completed her fellowship in Child Abuse Pediatrics at Childrens Hospital of The Kings Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia, where she was a member of the hospitals Mortality Review Committee. She also participated in the Centers for Disease Controls Sudden Death in the Young project, where cases of SIDS and SUIDS were reviewed for the development of a surveillance registry. Dr. Young has an interest in community outreach and health education.
