Mental Health America
Mental Health America of South Carolina (MHASC) is a private, not-for-profit organization that has been serving the state since 1954. As an affiliate of Mental Health America, the oldest mental health advocacy organization in the nation, MHASC works tirelessly to advocate for individuals with mental illness, educate the public to promote good mental health, and provide evidence-based programs to improve the quality of life for those affected by mental illness.
With a grassroots approach, MHASC collaborates with governmental agencies, develops policies, and follows legislation to enhance and expand mental health care in South Carolina. Through a network of 23 affiliates, including staffed and volunteer-run organizations, MHASC maintains a statewide presence, providing leadership, oversight, guidance, and support to ensure the well-being of individuals struggling with mental health challenges.
