Mary Catherine Gill, DNP, is interested in the care of epilepsy patients. She is a graduate of both the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs at MUSC. She has been a board member of the South Carolina Advocates for Epilepsy (SAFE) since it was founded in 2011. Mary Catherine is a member of the South Carolina Nurses Association and the American Epilepsy Society. Mary Catherine enjoys building relationships with patients to understand the whole person. She strives to work with patients and their caregivers to build a treatment plan considering all aspects of their life.

Inspired by her North American Plastic Surgery Fellowship and after a few years of practice in her home country, Dr. Scomacao decided to pursue further training in the US at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH, where she completed a series of fellowships in microsurgery (including supermicrosurgery), craniofacial surgery, and surgical wound care. Dr. Scomacao has produced numerous peer-reviewed publications and professional presentations and is a peer reviewer for the prestigious Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal.
