I was born and raised in Greenville, but after graduating from the University of South Carolina I was on active duty in the U.S. Air Force as an aviator aboard B-52 H-bombers. It was during my time in the Air Force that I decided I wanted to pursue something different. On the advice of a family member, I studied for medical school and ultimately attended the Medical College of Georgia, followed by a five-year residency in General Surgery that I completed in 2010. I am currently the Chief of Surgery at Laurens County Hospital, and practicing general surgery is a dream come true! My areas of interest are in gallbladder and hernia surgery, although I also do endoscopies. I feel blessed to care for my patients using a compliment of surgical and medical therapies. My wife and I enjoy traveling and being involved in our church in Simpsonville, and I also serve on the Board of Directors for Toccoa Falls College and guest lecture in their School of Nursing. I started playing drums at the age of four and I’m still at it today. I have three grown sons – the youngest is almost 18, and while being a father has been a blessing, I am ready for that “empty nest”! I’ve been part of Prisma Health since 2019, and I look forward to serving the people of my community for years to come.
