Dr. Kevin Delaney's specialties include all techniques of breast reconstruction, including minimally invasive prepectoral breast reconstruction, surgical conversion from subpectoral to the prepectoral breast reconstruction in patients who have had breast reconstruction with implants but have persistent pain, tightness, animation deformity, poor cleavage, or poor cosmetic outcome. Dr. Delaney performs DIEP flap breast reconstruction as well. He also frequently performs cosmetic breast surgery, including breast augmentation and breast lift surgery as well as cosmetic and reconstructive facial surgery. Dr. Delaney also works closely with the MUSC Weight Loss Surgery Program to help patients complete their journey following weight loss by removing excess skin and fat that frequently develops after weight loss. He has extensive experience in body contouring surgery after weight loss, including abdominoplasty (tummy tuck), brachioplasty (upper arm lift), thigh lift, and liposuction. Dr. Delaney also specializes in the treatment of abdominal wall ventral incisional hernias that require the specialty repair technique of component separation due to the recurrence or large size of the hernias. A graduate of Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine (NEOUCOM), he completed his general surgery residency as well as a fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Delaney then completed a hand and upper extremity surgery fellowship at the University of Miami in Miami, Florida. He is board certified by both the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Delaney is currently an assistant professor of plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina.

While there, he served as the chief of Hepatobiliary Pancreatic and Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery. In his administrative leadership role, Dr. Hawkins is the deputy director of the Hollings Cancer Center, where he focuses on strengthening translational research, increasing clinical trials across South Carolina, and assisting Jason Newman, M.D., FACS, chief of the Oncology Integrated Center of Clinical Excellence, with making clinical operations more efficient. He also serves as the Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs in the MUSC Department of Surgery. Dr. Hawkins completed fellowships in surgical oncology and research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, New York; served as chief during his surgical residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts; and received both his medical and bachelor's degrees at the State University of New York at Stony Brook.
