Dr. Kerry Briones is a board-certified internal medicine physician. She was recognized as a Top Doctor by Charlotte Magazine in 2024 and is excited to join MUSC Health in Indian Land. She completed her undergraduate work at Princeton University, earning a bachelor’s degree in molecular biology and a certificate in Spanish. After spending a year teaching high school with Americorps in Los Angeles, she attended medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia where she graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha honors. Dr. Briones then completed residency training in Internal Medicine at MUSC in Charleston, South Carolina. She worked on faculty at MUSC and UNC Chapel Hill before moving to Charlotte. In Charlotte, she has worked for Atrium and Tryon Medical Partners before joining MUSC. Dr. Briones aims to provide her patients with comprehensive preventative care and encourages her patients to optimize lifestyle factors that impact their health.

Dr. Oetken is excited to join MUSC, bringing his passion for total joint replacements, orthopedic trauma, and minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures. Dr. Oetken is excited to offer the community his expertise in state-of-the-art robotic surgery, minimally invasive anterior approach total hip replacements, partial and total knee replacements, and anatomic and reverse total shoulder replacements. Dr. Oetken has practiced in both California and Indiana and has served as the team physician for several sports teams, including football and basketball, and is honored to now service the Lancaster County School District athletes. His goal is to become an active participant within the local community, as he has previously served as a board member for community development and economic vitality, as well as involvement in local government. In his free time, Dr. Oetken values spending time with his wife, their two beautiful daughters, and their two Labradoodles. Dr. Oetken also enjoys exercising, biking, basketball, traveling, and the outdoors.
