Dan Matthews, MD joined Pulmonary Disease Associates in August 2016. He was born and raised in Jackson, TN. He attended Rice University in Houston, TX for his undergraduate degree and earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He then moved to Nashville, TN where he earned his medical doctorate at Vanderbilt University. After completing medical school, Dr. Matthews completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a resident, he was awarded the Ney Award, the Chairman's Award, and the David A. Ontjes Award, which together reflected his commitment to scholarly excellence and to the delivery of high quality care. After completing residency, Dr. Matthews returned to Vanderbilt University where he completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
