The Jewish Historical Society of South Carolina, founded in 1994, is dedicated to studying, preserving, and raising awareness of the rich history and culture of the Jews in South Carolina. Initially focused on preserving memories of small-town Jewish life, the Society has expanded over the years to include conferences, a biannual magazine, and the documentation of Jewish burial grounds and merchants across the state.

Under the auspices of the Jewish Heritage Collection at the College of Charleston, the Society has gathered over 500 oral histories, as well as manuscripts and archives related to families and businesses. Committed to preserving the unique Jewish history of South Carolina, the Society offers virtual programs and welcomes membership and donations to support its mission.
