The Economic Opportunity Authority is a nonprofit organization that undertakes a variety of community-based programs and support services. The various programs offered by the organization include emergency food and energy assistance, shelter support, crises intervention, welfare reforms, and early childhood and head start programs. The organization provides housing counseling that includes homebuyer education, prepurchase counseling, default and delinquency counseling for homeowners and renters, fair housing, budgeting and money management, reverse equity counseling for seniors and loss mitigation for homeowners. It has a job club that provides assistance in various areas, including job searching, filling out applications, letter writing, marketable skills, resume development and interviewing skills.
