Leonard Chace founded his business in Fall River, Massachusetts, to manufacture leather transmission belts and leather loom parts for the era's booming textile mills. It is the same principle that enabled Leonard S. Chace Jr. to successfully guide the family business through a depression and World War II. It is also the inspiration that, in 1967 led Leonard S. Chace III to recognize that the decline of the textile industry, in the New England area, was here to stay. Another generation has now joined the family business including Leonard S. Chace IV as president. In 2001 SIRCO was purchased to add a broad line of hose, coupling and fitting to the companies product mix.
