Established in 1799, Georgetown County Library offers a wide range of books, periodicals and reference material on lending basis to its members. The library offers various services, such as photocopying and faxing services, Internet access, and research of genealogies, rare books and manuscripts. It provides special services for children, such as online educational resources, reference material, and reading and summer programs. The library provides interlibrary loan services as part of its affiliation with the Palmetto Library Consortium. It also operates the Georgetown County Digital Library Web site that includes a variety of historical photographs. Georgetown County Library has branches in Georgetown, Andrews, Pawleys Island and Hemingway, S.C.
