Dr. Evan Ekman has experience training elite international athletes in sports, including professional baseball and hockey. He has served as a team physician for numerous collegiate and professional sports teams. Dr. Ekman is a worldwide lecturer and has been published in many journals and books, including the New England Journal of Medicine, The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, and the American Journal of Sports Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine, the Southern Orthopaedic Association, and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery, and Orthopedic Sports Medicine. Dr. Ekman has won international awards in orthopedic surgery, including the John J. Joyce Award and the Allen Lacey Endowment. Dr. Ekman enjoys providing care for the community of Chester County and beyond. He can provide care surrounding arthroscopic, shoulder, joint replacement, knee surgery, sports injury treatment, and other minimally invasive surgeries and many other services.

With experience as a pediatric therapy aid and as a nurse tech in the emergency department, Effie was admitted to Wake Forest School of Medicine. There she completed the Emerging Leaders Program, earning a Masters in Business Management with honors prior to starting the physician assistant program. During PA school, Effie earned a certificate in global health, served as her graduating class's co-president, and was awarded her class's outstanding student member award. She completed a clinical elective in orthopedic surgery during her training to further her skills in orthopedic and sports medicine topics. Effie takes pride in being in tune with her patients by employing active listening and compassionate care. She prides herself on practicing medicine that is centered around the patient, always aiming to improve the quality of lives of her patients in her home state of South Carolina.
