Dr. Mixson completed his undergraduate degree at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. A native of South Carolina, Dr. Mixson earned his medical degree, completed his residency training in internal medicine, and completed his fellowship training in geriatric medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. Dr. Matvey Tsivian is a board-certified, fellowship-trained urologic oncologist. He then completed a urologic oncology fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Prior to joining MUSC Health in 2024, Dr. Tsivian was an Assistant Professor of Urology at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Tsivian is quadrilingual, with a fluency in English, Hebrew, Russian, and Italian. He has published numerous articles related to urologic cancers and participates in many genitourinary oncology clinical trials. Dr. Tsivian is the Director of the Urologic Oncology Fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina.
