History

SC Arts Commission designated an area in downtown Lancaster, SC as a Cultural Arts District in 2015. This is a result of folks throughout the community working hard to lay a foundation, beginning in the 1970's. Public art can be seen in the form of sculptures, paintings, murals, etc. and performing arts will be found at many locations throughout CAD. Bob Doster's Backstreet Studio is the oldest established artist studio in the district (1970's) and many others have followed. Lancaster County Council of the Arts has been active in the district since its inception in the 1970's. Native American Studies Center houses the world's largest collection of Catawba Pottery and artifacts. Visitors will find the arts alive and well in Lancaster's Cultural Arts District.

HistoryCreation Arts & Athletics was founded in 2010 as a husband and wife venture to combine their talents of teaching dance and gymnastics in a ministry setting. She is the Artistic Director and Dance Director. Nick Baker is a native Charlottean. Nick is the founder and former owner of Charlotte Gymnastics Academy, which he sold in 2010, to help build Creation Arts & Athletics with his wife. He is the Gymnastics Director and Coach.
